Sailboat!!

Mike and Kirk bought a sailboat earlier this past winter. They have been so excited to take it out. They have been out 5 or 6 times already. The girl have been on it twice and love it. It's alot of fun and we look forward to more days out on the water this summer.

The boat has a cabin that is fun for the kids to bunk down in and watch movies and play. Although Lexi loves to spend her time out on the front deck of the boat.
I'm glad they are enjoying it and not fearing it like I do! :)

Even better - All of them enjoy their life jackets, so they don't mind wearing them. Shelby doesn't want me to take it off and will wear it around the house! (I scored two of them at a yard sale for $1 and $2 !)

Nailpolish - oh my!

Kam came up to me one day and said "Mom, she took the lid off" and I thought "yeah yeah, I'll get to her"...thinking she had a pen.
Well I discovered that Shelby had OPENED a bottle of nailpolish on her own and painted it on her lips, hands, and dumped it down her jammies (of which are my absolute fav. pair and should have been boxed up by now b/c their too small).
I freak out - trying to figure out how to save the jammies. No such luck after a long day of trying numerous methods :( so I get Shelby washed up and clean. and just say to myself "well at least it was just the jammies and no where else".
Then later that night I discover nailpolish in a big area in the girls' room. I panic and get online to find some remedies. WINDEX - worked pretty good. got maybe 85% out, so I just snipped the tips of the rest. The next day I find in on our little kid recliner - oh man! oh well I can only do soo much. (I'm suprised it's made it this long without any damage) haha.
So here are pictures of how cute shelby was, cuz now I can laugh about it!!

lexi's soccer!

The girls love coming to the games

Here is Lexi being SPEEDY - she's #1

Her is our soccer-girl! :)

I'm way behind on blogging. Over the last month we've been incredibly busy and have lots of photos. The computer is so darn slow at uploading them to the blog so I'm going to try to get thru as many as I can.

Lexi has been playing her 2nd year of soccer. Mike is coaching this year and Lexi is playing good. She hasn't made a goal yet, but we have her last 2 games tomorrow. Every game she plays a little better and a little more aggressive. It's always fun to watch her (and Mike) running around. Lexi has 4 others on her team and they all go to her school. None are in her class, but it has been fun getting to know them and their families.

Lexi's first GUM BUBBLE

Lexi wanted to learn how to make bubbles with her gum the other day. So we practiced for a few minutes and she finally got one! She was very excited, but now she wants to do it often, like in not so appropriate places: like Sacrament mtg. hehe

I wont be teaching her how to pop/snap her gum like me though. It's real annoying, now I see why my dad was bothered when I would do it in the car :)

Proud New Owners of a MINI-VAN

After squishing in our car for 6 months, we've upgraded to a mini-van. We are super excited about having more space. We got a good deal and were able to pay cash. This was an amazing feeling :)

We are very happy with our purchase, it even has a DVD player for the kids :) This will be a wonderful plus to have.

Green wouldn't be my first color choice - but what can you do? It's a darker green, Lexi thought it was black, so it's not too bad.
We are excited about traveling more comfortably this summer - YAY!!!

Lexi lost her FIRST TOOTH

AFTER

BEFORE

Lexi has had a loose tooth for almost 2months now. A week ago we noticed that the new tooth was already coming in behind the old one. All I could think is get that sucker out...she's only 5, and we'll have to do braces!!

So Tuesday she must have forgotten about her tooth or something, b/c she bit into an apple and the tooth was hanging. She wouldn't let me pull it. She was crying like crazy, I just HAD to take a picture. The next day...she comes running up to me to show me that her tooth was out. She was sooo excited. I'm glad I took a picture right then...b/c only hours later the tooth would actually go missing:

I wiped down the table to set it for dinner. Lexi comes over and asks where her tooth is. I find out that she'd placed it on the table....well I cleared the table, meaning it's most likely in the trash :( Then to top it off, we had rice for dinner. So real no chance of finding an itty bitty tooth.

That night Lexi wrote a letter to the tooth fairy:

I lost my tooth today on the table. I want a dollar.

Mike and I kept asking her how much she thought she'd get, that's where the dollar amount came in :) I was thinking 50cents, Mike thought $2...so we settled with $1. It was a fun day for Lexi, she was real excited. She already has another loose tooth and has plans to keep the tooth in a little box on a necklace this time.

******************************

We had a week long vacation b/c Lexi was out of school. It was a blast :)
The girls and I took off on Sunday after church. I thought this was a fabulous idea, since the girls would most likely zonk out....luckily this worked!! so the drive was not too bad.
We stopped in Aberdeen and my friend Heather's House and stayed the night. Heather is my old college roommate and is the one who introduced Mike and I. I love this girl and wish we could see eachother more often. Our 5 girls had a blast together and stayed up soo late. Heather and I stayed up til 2am!! We had a wonderful time and I wish we could do it more often. Thanks for letting us stay with you Heather and Travis!!
Then the next day we were off for Preston. We stayed there until Thursday. The girls had fun playing with their cousins, dying eggs, hunting for eggs, eating Doritos (the entire bag), and shopping (ok, they didn't really LOVE the shopping part). We played guitar hero and American Idol...which I LOVE by the way!! I think it's because I love to sing and really stink at it, so AI let's me really belt it out and have fun. [luckily there was no video of this:)] We sang 'Livin on a Prayer' soo many times :)
Amber even got us in to a pool at 10:30 at night with some of her friends. Lexi and I had a good time...Lexi thought it was awesome "girl time".
Wednesday we got hit with a snow storm...I got a bit worried about our 'warm' spring break and called Mike to check in. He said they decided against bringing the Sailboat to BearLake. So Thursday Mike and Kirk's family came and met us in BearLake. Mike's other brother Brian and his family came as well.
The ground was covered with snow the whole time, but we still had a fun time. The outdoor pool was heated and there was a big hot tub, so we enjoyed ourselves!!
We had yummy food... including these AMAZING stawberry shortcake cookies that Chalyce brought. We played games, did crafts, swam, talked, and watched conference. As you can tell in one of the photos, the kids managed to NAP as well. haha
We had a real fun and long vacation...but it was nice to be home after a week of being gone. It was hard to get back into the swing of things, but the weather is warming up and soccer is starting so we're are getting excited for upcoming events :)
