Volcano made of snow

yes, we had sun and snow in one weekend!!

Lisa, love this girl!

what a mess!

I thought this was so cute with her arm around Sparker.

Picnic on the deck in the sunshine! Baby Shelby's first hair cut!!!!
*****

We had such a WoNdErFuL time in Elko for the weekend! First we show up on Friday in capri's and flip-flops. Saturday was nice, the girls had a picnic outside on Grandpa's deck. Sunday morning we wake up to ALOT of SNOW! Holy cow, how does that happen? So the girls went out to play in their clogs and sweatshirts with Mike's socks for gloves!!

Friday we got into town earlier than planned and Grandpa was still golfing, so we went to 9Beans!!! I love this place and never get to eat there...so I was very happy. Lisa just happened to be near by so we hung out with them for around an hour or so. It was alot of fun. Then we went to Grandpa's a hung out for the rest of the day. Mike was really enjoying himself b/c he was able to watch March Madness the whole weekend on a big screen and few interuptions!! He was thrilled :)

Saturday morning my Dad took Mike out to the Gold Mine for a tour. Mike was pretty excited to see how it all works. While the guys were gone, us girls went out to Lisa's and hung out. Melinda cut my hair (Thank you!) and little Shelby's hair for her FiRsT HaIr CuT!!!

We then went back out to Lisa's for dinner and had a wonderful time. You see here in the picture how they trashed Taylee's room real quick!

Sunday we got ready to leave and met up with Rikki and Timbre's families. We had a wonderful time seeing everyone and their kids!! I wish we could make it back over more often.

On the way home the girls asked if we were going back to Grandpa's, I think they had a great time. I know Lexi did, we couldn't get her eyes off of the Disney channel the whole time. She had her own TV for the weekend and couldn't have been happier.

Plus we were able to surprise G&G Dean and drop in for a couple of hours on our way home.

Thank you everyone for the fun weekend!!!! Come see us!
(I can't believe I didn't get a picture of Grandpa with the kids. I was so mad. I also wish I could have gotten one of everyone's families!)

Shelbs is 7 months old!

Shelby is 7 months!! And I can finally say "Life is Good!"(or atleast getting better). Shelby is becoming a 'normal' baby :). Shelby is so fun now and the girls love to play with her. Her are a few of her milestones and things she does:
* shakes her head back and forth and waits for our reaction. It's so cute, I need to get it on camara.
*loves food now. she smacks her lips for more and cries for it. I must say I hate this stage, it's adding one more thing to do inbetween bottles. I can't wait for the 'cheerio' stage!
*I still haven't tried any full on dairy yet with her, I think she may just get congested when she has it and not full on Allergic.
*sleeps great in her crib...this is good and bad. Good because bedtime is wonderful with her and she's napping well. Bad because it's a pain to get her to sleep in the carseat, at someone's home, or at church.
*She's holding her own bottle! This is Mike's favorite because he can give her the bottle then do something else. I think she enjoys her independance as well.
*love's her jumper. She is finally content and doesn't cry all day. This jumper is a blessing! It makes her smile, laugh, and entertains her for dinner time and showers!!
*Shelby's getting awesome at sitting up. She can go for awhile, but still is not a pro. I sat her up on the floor for a bit at church yesterday...she was so much happier and entertained. Much better than the past months of standing in the back or the halls bouncing her!! :)

We love this little girl and are enjoying having her in our family. It's made a few things a bit more difficult, but we're starting to get the hang of it. We feel confident enough that we are going to try venturing out for a weekend getaway so we're off to Grandpa Burns'. Hopefully we can contain our 'little nation' and have an enjoyable time. Also I get to see some old friends and Lisa's new baby! I'm super excited!

"SEASON" of my life!

I'm so thankful for Relief Society! I am the Enrichment Leader in my ward and we had our Birthday dinner tonight and it went so well. It's funny how exhausted I was today running around to do last minute things and all the stress that builds up to each activity I plan, and yet it all went so well and smooth and I loved every minute of it! I come home on such a high of happiness and it is then that I say "I love my calling!" LOL
The theme was on the seasons of our lives and right now I fall into Summer with being a mom with young children at home. I'm so thankful for this season and love it so much, even though "I'm doing alot of watering and weeding" as a girl said tonight. :)
Another girl mentioned how she was thankful for the people leading up to her season in her life b/c they are who helped her to get where she is today.
So this made me think of how thankful I am to my OLD girlfriends from High School. I hardly see any of you anymore and do not get to talk to you as much as I'd like, but I love you all and think of you often. Everyone of you, you know who you are!! :) And college roommates too! I wouldn't be here at all if it wasn't for Heather! I love you girl!!
And I'm so thankful for my sister-in-laws and family [my mom and sister would kick my butt if I forgot them :)]. They are such a strength to me and build me up in so many ways spiritually, emotionally, mentally, everything!! (except I'm gonna kick Nicole's butt PHYSICALLY if we don't see each other soon!)
Well now my enrichment activity is out of the way...I can move on to cleaning, quilting, couponing, and everything else that's been on the back burner!
Have a wonderful week!

First Fashion Item up for sale!!

(modeling the necklace)

(the necklace)
Okay- So I'm making a quilt (yes this is a huge deal, im very proud of myself...more on that later) and there is extra material lying around. So my 'fashion designer' Lexi has taken it upon herself to make a NECKLACE. So I come in the room and she has this necklace 'sewn' together with TAPE and it is around her neck. "you like my necklace mom?" it actually fit her outfit very well. So this is our item we're selling to Grandma for the cost of her tuition to Designer School! ;) LOL
I really did ask Lexi how much she'd sell it for and she said $1. I'm going to have to teach this girl about 'mark up'. :)
