*Cute new cushions*

BEFORE

AFTER

My latest project has been re-covering my cushions on my kitchen chairs. My great-uncle gave us his old table and chairs earlier this last summer. We were in need of a bigger table with our growing family and it has suited us just perfect! It has this awesome leaf that folds down and stores in the table.
I really liked the back of the chairs when I got them, they are different than anyother I have seen.
But the cushions just HAD to go. (can you see the fringe?)
So I found some cute material at Home Fabrics in Boise and finally went to work on it.
After making one cushion, I realized I had to be honest with myself: I would most likely not want to cover them again anytime soon, I would most likely never want to take them off to wash,
and they were going to get dirty no matter what I did. So I decided to cover the cushions with vinyl.
I think that once they've been spilt on 5 times in one day...I will be glad I did the vinyl!
With 3 little kids - we love wipe-able surfaces. I think it's going to work out just GREAT! :)

Mom I can Fly!! and a loose TOOTH

LOOK MOM, I CAN FLY!!!

Lexi told me she has an idea to make wings out of an old blanket, some material, and she could make them like Thumbelina and jump off and FLY! How could I break her happiness by telling her she coudn't REALLY fly?? so we made the WINGS with a blanket, some ribbon and pins. She jumped off my bed and the couches all morning...flying! This girl has quite the imagination and creativity!

Lexi was eating cheerios and kept saying it was hurting her mouth. I said "well quit biting your tongue". Then she said it was her tooth, like little seeds when she would chew. A lightbulb went off in my head and I looked, sure enough...her FIRST LOOSE TOOTH!!!! When I told her it was loose you should have seen the smile on her face...it was priceless! She has been waiting for this moment for a VERY long time. She thinks EVERYONE at school has lost a tooth except for her.

She then turns to me and says "mom, I don't know what to wear now that I have a loose tooth!" Yes, my little fashion freak, this is the first thing on her mind. Next is "I'm gonna tell everyone at school!!" And she did.

She is real happy about all of this. Me on the other hand, I'm a bit nervous. I don't really know why, but it is yet another first for us. She is a pansy sometimes, I know it will be real intersting when it comes time to pull it out! (we'll have to get video!) lol

Cute new bedding for Shelby

{I love this picture of Kam...She always climbs up the drawers to wash her hands. I finally was able to 'capture' it }

I just HAD to have this cute bedding I found for Shelby's crib. It's actually toddler-bed size, but it works perfect. I too k the top sheet and rip a few stiches out...wha-la...instant curtain. I have never done anything with this baby room in the 4 yrs we've lived here. It's kinda turned into a 'catch-all' room (ok, so I have two rooms like that). I love this bedding and I'm excited to put this room together. I think I'm going to paint a wall or two b/c the curtain doesn't lay well next to the cream wall. And my friend's going to do some cute vinyl tweet birds for the wall too :)

Now I have to decided what to do first: my cushions for the kitchen chairs or Shelby's room!
