Lexi's 7th birthday!

our pretty toes!!
Happy Birthday Lexi!

Last day of 1st grade

Field day tug-a-war

Lexi and her best friend Jaeli

Lexi with Jenna and Kam on her birthday

swimming!

That's right, Lexi has turned seven...I still can't believe how old she is. Part of me loves how old and grown up she is, and then part of me hates it because I get so sad that she's not my little baby anymore.

We have been super busy since her birthday - so I'm way late at posting some pics for her.

This year was the first year she didn't have a birthday party - she was a bit bummed at first, but soon started preparing for her 8th way in advance :)

-She will be a 2nd grader in the fall - I can't believe it. She loves school and is doing so well in it.

-She loves to read and for that I'm grateful - we've been picking up Junie B. Jones books and anything with pets on the cover at yard sales.

-We started swimming lessons this week - she is getting really good at her swimming. She really enjoys it and would love to do it everyday.

-She is a great big sister. She takes care of her sisters and they look up to her so much. She will be a gerat help with this little baby.

-She has a cute sense for fashion - I took her shopping one day and she came back with a handful of scarfs - I told her she could get them. Now she's put them with cute outfits as headbands and belts.

-We went and did mom/daughter pedicures for her birthday. It was her first pedi and she had a blast. We also went to hotel for a night here in town and went out for dinner and did swimming at the hotel. All the girls really enjoyed that. We then did brownies to sing happy birthday and she had her cousin Jenna stay the night.

I love our little Lexi - she is so sweet.

*She still loves to give me hugs and cuddle

* she loves to be 'grown up'

*she makes the cutest cards and gifts

*she is starting to become embarrassed about things - it's kinda cute, but I hate to see her get shy because of a situtation.

*she loves to watch movies

*she writes cute little journal entries

*I love that she shares things with me while I'm tucking her in bed at night

*She got a camara for her birthday - she loves to take pictures, they are pretty funny.

*she loves peace signs, turquoise, light blue, and green

*she likes grape pop, milk, pb sandwiches, toast, german pancakes, pizza, carmel apple suckers, and rolls.

*likes Wild Kratts

*loves to read to her sisters

*is still a very picky eater

*loves riding her bike

*likes to lay down in the grass and being outside

*likes to sleep in

*still loves Taylor Swift, dancing and singing

*is really good at drawing

we love you lexi :)

Lexi's first day of school!!

I took Lexi to school today to drop her off in her new FIRST GRADE classroom!! aahhh...is it really that time already? I'm old, she's old, time is going too fast.
She was sitting in her desk putting her supplies away when I did a big Mommy NO NO that I never saw coming....she had snot running down her nose and, well, I just couldn't leave her like that....so I got a tissue and just wiped it. I could still hear 'stuff' in the nose so I said "blow!". yes, I just was one of those moms that blew my childs nose...I think I embarrassed her, whoops! So when I was done I hugged her and kept saying "Do you need anything? need to go to the bathroom?" and she finally said "GO MOMMY" haha

So I think it is safe to say that she was excited to go to school today and is not too afraid! :)

A couple of nights ago she was crying and I checked on her and she said she was sad to leave me all day and didn't want us to be apart that long. It was really sweet and I comforted her - I think she has over heard me talking about being uneasy to send her away that long. I kept trying to take in the moment because I'm hoping she'll think that same way when she's 18!!
I'm still sitting here worried about her recess time, getting lost, eating her lunch, forgetting her lunch box and etc. I'm sure she is loving it though and I can't wait to see her in an hour!! :) The joys of parenthood...

Lexi lost her FIRST TOOTH

AFTER

BEFORE

Lexi has had a loose tooth for almost 2months now. A week ago we noticed that the new tooth was already coming in behind the old one. All I could think is get that sucker out...she's only 5, and we'll have to do braces!!

So Tuesday she must have forgotten about her tooth or something, b/c she bit into an apple and the tooth was hanging. She wouldn't let me pull it. She was crying like crazy, I just HAD to take a picture. The next day...she comes running up to me to show me that her tooth was out. She was sooo excited. I'm glad I took a picture right then...b/c only hours later the tooth would actually go missing:

I wiped down the table to set it for dinner. Lexi comes over and asks where her tooth is. I find out that she'd placed it on the table....well I cleared the table, meaning it's most likely in the trash :( Then to top it off, we had rice for dinner. So real no chance of finding an itty bitty tooth.

That night Lexi wrote a letter to the tooth fairy:

I lost my tooth today on the table. I want a dollar.

Mike and I kept asking her how much she thought she'd get, that's where the dollar amount came in :) I was thinking 50cents, Mike thought $2...so we settled with $1. It was a fun day for Lexi, she was real excited. She already has another loose tooth and has plans to keep the tooth in a little box on a necklace this time.

Lexi's sprirt week

Our friends at church had this cute hair, so we tried it out. I'm not very good, I still need practice. But it turned out pretty cute and Lexi loved it. Lisa, I know you will be very proud of me :) haha

Last week, Lexi's school was celebrating READING week or something.
So everyday she wore something fun:
Backwards Day
Sports Day
Crazy Hair Day
Pajamma Day
Funky Sock Day

She had a lot of fun and thought it was soo funny to wear these things.
The backwards day and Crazy hair day she was excited about, until it got time to go to school, then she started getting a little nervous and self-conscious I think. Here are some pics of the Hair day.

I love this little girl. She's not so little anymore though :( She coming up on 6 and I can hardly believe it.
She is so helpful. She empties the dishwasher, picks up the living room, vaccums, makes her bed, puts the garbage out and sacks in, puts her clothes away, and takes care of her sisters.
She is so sweet and kind. Her favorite thing is hanging out as a family. She always wants us to all play together, or all watch a movie together.

She loves school and reading. Today I couldn't find the girls when I got out of the shower.
Then I find them on Kam's bed, Lexi reading to Kamree. I love these sweet little moments of being a mom.
She is growing up way too fast. But this is a really fun age and we are loving it.

Lexi said she wants me to be her teacher. I said I have to stay home and be a mom to her sisters. I told her she could do homeschool is she wanted. She said "how about school and then homeschool everyother day". I just laughed and said you can only do one. She said "then I'll just do homeschool on Saturdays then because it's my day off" haha :)

I pulled out pictures last night of Lexi as a baby. Shelby looks just like her.
I'm sad that memories are already starting to fade and blend together between the three girls.

Mom I can Fly!! and a loose TOOTH

LOOK MOM, I CAN FLY!!!

Lexi told me she has an idea to make wings out of an old blanket, some material, and she could make them like Thumbelina and jump off and FLY! How could I break her happiness by telling her she coudn't REALLY fly?? so we made the WINGS with a blanket, some ribbon and pins. She jumped off my bed and the couches all morning...flying! This girl has quite the imagination and creativity!

Lexi was eating cheerios and kept saying it was hurting her mouth. I said "well quit biting your tongue". Then she said it was her tooth, like little seeds when she would chew. A lightbulb went off in my head and I looked, sure enough...her FIRST LOOSE TOOTH!!!! When I told her it was loose you should have seen the smile on her face...it was priceless! She has been waiting for this moment for a VERY long time. She thinks EVERYONE at school has lost a tooth except for her.

She then turns to me and says "mom, I don't know what to wear now that I have a loose tooth!" Yes, my little fashion freak, this is the first thing on her mind. Next is "I'm gonna tell everyone at school!!" And she did.

She is real happy about all of this. Me on the other hand, I'm a bit nervous. I don't really know why, but it is yet another first for us. She is a pansy sometimes, I know it will be real intersting when it comes time to pull it out! (we'll have to get video!) lol

Lexi's first day of school

Lexi's classroom

Liv and Kamree wanted some pictures too
*****

Lexi had her first day of Kindergarten today. I can't believe how fast the last 5 yrs have flown by. It makes me kind of sad :(

Ashley was soo good to me today and came to babysit the little ones so I could go with Lexi to school. Thank you so much Ashley, you're awesome!!
We had orientation and learned what Lexi would be doing in her classroom. I didn't cry (surprising) but I think it's b/c I was with her the whole time. Tomorrow I leave her, and she wants to take the bus. This is going to be alot harder for me.
It's helping that Lexi is not scared one bit...she is loving it and is sooo ready. She has been real excited about riding the bus, recess, and wearing her new school clothes. She also told me that tomorrow she is going to sit at the 'girl' table instead of by the boys we did today....oh boy, here we go! ;)
(everytime I ask Kam what we're going to do when Lexi goes to school she says "Shelby's going to walk". I think at some point I told her Shelby would be walking after lexi started school...it's just not coming fast enough for Kam. lol)

Lexi's Hair Cut

I've been pretty behind on blogging lately. We've been real busy and have been taking a ton of pics, so I have to pick and choose which ones to post. About a month ago I decided to chop Lexi's hair off. I was getting sick of the snarles and her crying...it has been a wonderful thing. Lexi loves it and so do I. It's made my life easier to get out the door with one less head of hair to style...and she's been working on washing it herself in the tub. Hooray :)

Swim Lessons

Don't you just LOVE the goggles? So geeky looking! :)

Lexi's in swim lessons and has been going GREAT! She was shy the first day and wouldn't go to the guy teacher, just the girl. But she is loving it now after a week into it. We bought her some goggles and she's loving it even more. She is turning into quite the fish...which is great b/c we really want her to like the water. She can now go under water without plugging her nose and will jump in. Today she said "Mom, you want me to sit at the bottom? Watch". I am soo proud of her. Kam also swims in the kiddie pool while Lexi's at her lesson. Kam is enjoying the water as well, though she wont put her head under yet.

Lexi's 5th birthday!

Build-A-Bear

Lexi's new pj's and lamb

Water balloons!!!

This weekend was Lexi's birthday. She has been planning a "makeup" party since Feburary...so of course, we did a "makeup" party. She invited 8 girlfriends and we did our makeup and painted our nails. We also played with water balloons, which was a HUGE hit!! Luckily Grandma and Grandpa Tondini, and Aunt Kim stayed because it took all 5 of us adults for the party. Grandpa Tondini, Kim, and Mike all got the balloons ready, my mom helped with the little girls that were sad and got them to be involved, and me and my niece Lindsay did the girls' makeup and nails. It was crazy around here, but lots and lots of fun!!
Afterwards, G&G took the girls to Build a Bear. Lexi picked a lamb and Kamree picked a shaggy dog (with a little swaying on my part) She wanted a blue bear, but the dog was sooo dang cute!)
The girls had a blast and enjoyed every minute of it. Then we did dinner afterwards and Kelsie and Joe met up with us. We had a wonderful, busy weekend.
Lexi was soo excited to turn 5 and can't wait to start school. We registered her last week. We start swim lessons next week and she's pumped about that as well. I can't believe how big she's getting and how grown up she is. The time has really gone by fast.
Love that Girl!!!!
